On this page I hope to put in websites and other helpful contact details of various groups that offer helpful information to people with mental illness both here in Australia and overseas. As with all of the information you receive on this website, some you will agree with, some you wont. You are to take it all at your own risk. Where possible I will put Christian groups but to get groups on individual subjects, some non - Christian groups have been added.

BOOKS

Koorong are a Christian bookshop that is reccomended to get good quality books not only on mental health issues. They are a general Christian bookshop in most states of Australia and have a postal service for those not near a store.   Koorong http://www.koorong.com/

Depression

Eating disorders  Anorexia bulimia care is a Christian support group in England.  www.anorexiabulimiacare.co.uk

Employment  The Big Issue [magazine] A fortnightly  current affairs and entertainment magazine sold on the streets by homeless and socially excluded people of any kind eg disabled etc. Vendors are trained then buy magazines for $2.50 each and sell it to the public for $5.00 earning $2.50 profit for each magazine they sell. Rainbow project The Rainbow project, has regular lunches together, worship services, drop in coffee mornings and limited amounts of one - to to - one friendship with carefully screened volunteers. They point out that it may take some time to find a volunteer. They meet in various suburbs of Perth W.A. and also in Mandurah. Kids Helpline Telephone counseling line available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  1800 55 1800 For people aged 5 - 25 years.  www.kidshelp.com.au
